Bamber & Bruce (Pvt)Ltd has a brand heritage of more than a century in Sri Lanka in the field of providing analytical services to the trade industry and exports to attend qualitative standards for their products and is proud to be the first private laboratory set up in the country as far back as 1880.

Bamber & Bruce is the first laboratory in Sri Lanka to obtain accreditation from the then accreditation authority, The Sri Lanka Standards Institution under the ASTEL (Accreditation Scheme for Testing Laboratories), in 1998. With the setting up of the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board (SLAB) as the government accreditation body, our laboratory continued accredited under the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005, and we are proud to inform you that the recently completed SLAB Audit in September 2020 was performed as per 17025:2017. The main target to migrate from 17025:2005 to 1705:2017 is to serve better to our customer base since most countries consider the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is mandatory for a testing laboratory to be deemed as technically competent.

From its inception to the present day, the company has made vast strides in expanding and diversifying its services. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in both microbiological analysis and chemical analysis, and backed by highly qualified and trained staff, the company today occupies a leading position as a trusted and reliable laboratory, a testament to the excellence of its analytical services is the company’s clientele comprising some of the leading business institutions of Sri Lanka, who continue to engage its services for several decades.

B&B’s portfolio of services covers a full microbiological analytical service, chemical analysis and physical testing of Food & Beverages, Potable Water, Waste Water/Sludge, Fertilizer and Soil, Food and Agricultural Products, Coir Fiber, Alcohol and Methanol, Cosmetics and House Hold Items, fish and fishery products, etc.

We have registered as a recognized laboratory to the National Medicine Regulatory Authority (NMRA) of the Ministry of Health Sri Lanka to carry out the technical evaluation of products submitted by importers/manufacturers/exporters for registration and assist the NMRA to regulate and control all aspects earned pertaining to cosmetics.

B&B has also been the proud winner of the prestigious Silver Award for Excellence awarded to the small revenue category of the service provider to the local exporter community by the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka at their annual awards ceremony held in 2019.
